Argentina and Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi has agreed a partnership with Bitget.
The deal will see one of the world’s best footballers engage with the leading global cryptocurrency exchange ahead of the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
Ahead of the tournament, both parties will release a film production with Messi fans given a unique opportunity to explore Web 3.0 and the potential of trading cryptocurrency.
A release by the crypto giant, which was established in 2018, also said both parties would be working together to commit to more impactful efforts, extending beyond cryptocurrency and football.
Bitget managing director Gracy Chen said: “We try to reflect the diversity and richness of our platform community in the partnerships we choose.
“We open up Web 3.0 to sports fans; they open the field to crypto traders. And to top it all off, we pool our resources to help those who need it. I can’t imagine it any other way.”
Bitget’s flagship product One-Click Copy Trade has amassed more than 55,000 professional traders, with around 1.1million followers, reflecting Bitget’s long-term efforts and achievements in crypto social trading.
Messi, who is expected to captain Argentina at the World Cup, isn’t the first football partnership Bitget has secured with partnerships in place with Juventus and Galatasaray.
