Betsson adds FunFair’s AstroBoomers game

A selection of Betsson Group brands released FunFair’s AstroBoomers: To the Moon! on Monday, ahead of a network-wide release from May 11.

The developers, FunFair Games, used a crash-style gaming experience, featuring social and multiplayer elements.

Effectively, this is the first time a multiplayer real money game has debuted in a bid to upend what FunFair Games COO Lloyd Purser describes as the “solitary slot experience”.

FunFair Games is committed to improving the igaming experience by adding a social element that allows players to witness each other's progress in real-time and feel included in the game's theme and immersed in the gameplay.

The game itself comes with a massive 2,500x multiplier and the gameplay is inspired by blockchain-styled crash games. However, the game itself is not based on crypto or blockchain technology.

“We want to develop a new genre of games for a new generation of gamblers”, Purser explained.

FunFair Games feel confident in the game's success and have noted that titles such as Bustabit, a blockchain game that isn't even licensed, has fetched $40.3bn in total wagers since 2018 giving a very real incentive to companies to seek and engage with this new game genre.

“Its growth has arisen through a new generation who are constantly connected, enjoy simple, social concepts they can share and who we believe will take this form of gaming to a global scale”, Purser continued.

Betsson Group head of games Paul Malt praised FunFair's forays into a completely new gaming experience. If you are keen to explore more blockchain-inspired and crypto games, we recommend stopping by, 1xBit and FortuneJack.
