2 mins read Newly-appointed chief executive of FUN Token.io Adriaan Brink has highlighted the growing number of crypto operators and said he expects them to soon equal other operators.
The conversation with FxStreet came in the wake of FUN’s recent amalgamation of BETR-developed technology.
Brink noted that the number of crypto-only operators was growing and said he expected that they would soon be on par with other operators. He was moderate in his expectations of crypto gambling surpassing traditional gaming, but argued that more people should move to crypto, especially given the rate of simplification of the onboarding process.
FxStreet jumped straight into how crypto has transformed the online gambling vertical, along with asking what the downsides of using cryptocurrencies were.
Brink didn't hesitate to point out the immediate benefits. He argued that many online casinos and sportsbooks have been rapidly adopting Bitcoin and crypto technology. However, he explained that some of the more regulated jurisdictions still avoided the practice altogether for fear of money-laundering and a lack of clarity surrounding the source of funds.
However, he added that thanks to the continuous development of blockchain technology, consumers can discover new and worthwhile experiences that reduce player risk.
Brink spoke about sectors in the crypto gaming sector, touting both MoonPay and Coinify as the two most dependable payment options as they made the transaction between FIAT and crypto much easier.
Brink argued that his team is now working on dealing with Ethereum gas issues and implementing side and off-chain components to an extent to help slash the fees in the first place. He argued that a frictionless user experience is important for the success of any project, and this includes FUN Token.io.
He similarly lauded the success of the FUN Token with Free Bitco.in which launched the coin fairly recently, but has generated over 100,000 users purchasing the coin. The next 12 months also promise to be exciting for FUN.
Brink expects to see new side chain technology and reduce friction in the user experience.
